We have all heard it before. If you think positive, you will attract more positive things. If you shift your mind to a more positive thinking, you will be happier and more successful in achieving your goals.
Unfortunately, old habits die hard though. Positive thinking is easier said than done.
You decided to think more positive, woke up, tried to think of something positive. The day went on, it did not go as expected and without realizing it, you had put yourself in a negative mood again.
The week kept on going like that, and nothing changed.
So how do you change an old habit of negative thinking?
How do you become a more positive person?
Well, patience and practice.
But with a few simple tricks, the process can be a lot easier and faster.
The first step is to try to think of something positive right when you wake up but just before you get up to start your day.
A great way to do so is by trying to express gratitude.
So it is 6 am. You just turned off your alarm. Damn, it is a weekday, you have to rush to get ready for work.
Caught yourself thinking something like that? Stop right here and think to yourself:
Try doing that daily. Try to think of something you are grateful for every morning right after waking up.
That way you start your day in a completely different and a lot more positive mood.
Now you started your day with some excellent vibes. But then you caught yourself thinking negatively again quite a few times throughout the day and ended up drained out of energy at the end of the day again?
Well, every time you realize you are thinking negatively, you have to try to turn your thought around straight away.
One thought that helps me personally a lot in doing so is believing that everything happens for a good reason.
Your morning went great so far, but now you are stuck in a traffic jam, and your mood seems to be changing again.
Well, being stuck in a traffic jam is not necessarily a bad thing. Anyways, you cannot change the fact that you are stuck in a traffic jam, so why not turn it around into something positive.
Who knows, maybe, if you would not have been stuck in the traffic jam, you would have had an accident instead? Maybe, you are not the only one stuck in a traffic jam (obviously) and this way you will arrive precisely at the same time at the office now as your cute college, and it will give you an excellent chance for some pleasant small talk? Maybe it is preventing you from being in the wrong place at the wrong time?
Just think to yourself: You may not understand it right now, but in the long run, you are sure it happened for a good reason.
Or maybe, it is just awesome because now you can listen longer to your favorite songs on the radio before arriving to work which will lift up your positive mood even further.
No matter what happens throughout the day, try to catch yourself every time you start thinking negatively and try to see things from a different perspective.
Sometimes we just seem to go through the day without particularly seeming to think nor negative nor positive. This also can be improved. Yes, maybe today you did not really consciously think negatively but honestly you did not really seem to think positive either. The day just passed, emotionless without a real feeling of happiness or sadness.
While it is excellent (and a good start), that you were not thinking negatively, wouldn’t it have been better if you would have had more positive thoughts and made yourself feel good as well?
So how do you do that now? Be attentive. Look around you. Notice the wonderful things the world around you has to offer. Did you feel the warm sunshine on your skin while sitting on the bench outside your office on your coffee break? (Yes outside, why having your coffee in the office, if you can enjoy some fresh air and clear your mind for 10 minutes outside during your break as well!?)
Did you see the flowers growing so beautifully in your neighbor’s garden? Did you see the other gentleman offering his seat to the old lady on the bus? Did you hear your favorite song on the radio today? Or the birds singing in the morning?
Making yourself realize even the small, but beautiful things around you will put a smile on your face and just make you feel great for a moment. The more often you do that, the more awesome your day gets.
Another crucial step for me is, to do something I like every day. It's your life do what you want to do. Just one thing at least. It does not have to be something big. Maybe, you will treat yourself with your favorite caramel latte instead of a regular coffee. Maybe, you will have a bit of that favorite chocolate of yours. Or actually really cook the dinner you love to eat so much instead of just making a quick tin of the same food you made for yourself the last two days? Maybe, you will just grant yourself 30 minutes to continue reading that new book you bought. Maybe, you will take a few minutes to send a nice text to someone just to let them know you wish them a lovely day as well. Just at least one thing you really like or enjoy daily.
Most important and effective for me personally is to make sure I have small reminders, which keep me reminded all through the day to stay positive consciously as well as subconsciously.
This is why we came up with our collection of apparels and bags. It helps us so much, and it makes such a huge difference in our daily life’s that we just had to share them and spread more positivity, help others living a happier life.
Every evening I open my closet, and I think about what I want to wear the next day. One accessory that for me can never be missing is an item that has a positive thought or statement on it.
Maybe it is a weekday, and I might not be able to wear a shirt with a positive statement to that meeting today, but I can still take my bag that has a positive affirmation with me.
I look at all my cloth with all these positive energies, and I choose the one that just seems to somehow feel right for me for that day. I, personally like to select it in the evening because that way when I wake up in the morning, I am already thinking of the clothing item I chose. For example, “I’m happy” and I directly start feeling the same way. I know a lot of people who like to choose their shirt or bag in the morning instead, but that is completely up to you. Whichever way it makes you feel better.
So now I choose the “I’m awesome” bag for the next morning (it makes me feel more confident especially on days where I have important meetings I love to take this bag). Which also makes me think the same thought in the evening just before going to sleep (it is always very good to think a positive thought just before going to sleep, especially those who start of with ”I am”). I woke up in the morning, I was thinking of a few things I am grateful for. I went and took that refreshing shower had my nice breakfast got ready for work and just when I want to leave the house and grab my bag and read the statement on it. “I’m awesome”. It just puts a smile on my face. I am ready for the day.
As the day goes by, every time I have to get something out or put something into my bag, I consciously as well as subconsciously read this statement and indirectly tell myself “’I'm awesome.” It might sound cheeky, but honestly the more often I read it, the more it makes me feel like I am awesome. It just seems to supercharge my energy somehow.
Another thing I love about wearing this collection is that I realized it seems to make people around me less grumpy as well. People seem to smile at me more often. The days I wear these, I really seem to spread the positivity of those statements to those around me also, which makes me feel even more awesome because I helped others to have a better day as well. This, obviously, happens for two reasons. Reason number one being that I am in a better mood, which makes a huge difference when interacting with others and reason number two is that they read the statements as well, consciously as well as subconsciously they also read “I’m awesome” for example, indirectly they also tell themselves that they are awesome. By reading it they are making a compliment to themselves which puts a small smile on their face too.
So if you want to be more positive, happier, self-confident and spreading the positivity to those around you. You now have a lot of steps to get started with!
If you look through our collection, keep in mind, choose the ones that feel best to you. Choose the ones that will help you achieve feeling how you want to feel. Some statements might seem to be nearly the same, such as I am thankful or I am grateful but pay attention to how reading that statement makes you feel. On some people, “I am thankful” seems to have a stronger effect than “I am grateful” and vice versa.
Even though we speak the same language, we still subconsciously connect slightly different feelings with different words. Find the ones that you love. Find the ones that make you feel great. Choose a few different ones, not every day we need the same reminder. Different reminders on different days have a stronger effect. Start being happier now! Start being In Love With Life Now!
